How to Stay on Budget while Shopping at Target

How to Stay on Budget while Shopping at Target

I don't know about you, but with all this heat it calls for a breathable maxi dress. I have been stocking up on these lately because here in the South the heat is unreal. One retailer that I have found the best maxi dresses from is Target. I know, I know, how can I not find the best items at Target? I do have to admit that for the longest I banned myself from Target. Every time I stop in this store I spend insane amounts of money. I am pretty sure we have all been here:

You say you need to go to Target. You write out your list. You pray to the Target gods that you will only get what is on the list. You even go through another entry so you do not go past the Bullseye Playground. Then you see this item that catches your eye at a price you can't believe. A few to good to be true items later and yet nothing on your list in the basket, you push that cart to the register feeling so good of all the unbelievable deals you found. Then the cashier tells you your total price and you cannot believe what you are hearing. You think to yourself how did $2 and $14 here and there add up to that?

If this story sounds familiar then let me share a tip with you that will help you stay on budget while shopping at Target. Lately, I have been utilizing the Target app and choosing the pick up in store or drive up options. I can still use coupons on my order, shop for items that are in my store, but it saves me from seeing all the pretty displays that draw me in. I have been able to enjoy all of the greatness from Target but most importantly I stick to my budget.

The drive up option, by far, is my favorite. You will receive notification when your order is ready, then you go back to the Target app and there is a link you will click on to let them know when you are on the way and once you are parked. I get my order in less than a minute this way and the service is exceptional.

So, go on ahead and feel free to shop from the comfort of your phone and get what you need and only what you need from Target. In this case, it is all about maxi dresses. The one I am wearing is $29.99, super comfortable, has pockets, and this beautiful button feature with a slit. It fits TTS so I am wearing a size medium. So what are you waiting for? Stay on budget while shopping at target by using the Target app and pick up in store and drive up options.

My exact dress is the first one linked below. I promise it is this is just the other print option.

Top Three Affordable Date Night Ideas

Top Three Affordable Date Night Ideas

I think dating your significant other especially once you are married is extremely important. That one-on-one time to reconnect keeps your relationship thriving. I have to admit that my husband and I have not done the best with keeping up with date night. I wanted to share some ideas for date night that does not always mean you have to go on a dinner date. This is something that is important to my husband. He sometimes hears date and automatically thinks that means you have to spend over a $100 to have a great time, but I am here to tell you that a date night does not always mean you have to spend insane amounts of money or even any money at all. Here are my top three affordable date ideas that we have done and had a blast doing.

1. Go window shopping for your home

At the beginning of the year my husband and I sit down together and make goals. One of the goals we set is for our home. We like to focus on one to two areas of our home and by the end of the year that goal needs to be complete. This year was about our son's room and his mancave. We will go to furniture stores and just window shop to decide on thing we like together. Sometimes we walk out of the store with something and sometimes we do not. My husband is the biggest deal finder I have ever met. He does not believe in paying sticker price for anything so if we walk out of the store with anything you better believe it is because it was a hell of a deal.

2. Cook dinner together

You can save a lot of money cooking meals yourself. When we are lazy we head to Costco and get one of their oven ready meals, pop open a bottle of wine, and dine in the comfort of our own home. Other times we make a cheese and meat plate together. This has become one of our favorite meals. He picks the cheeses since I am lactose intolerant and would not be the best at that and I pick the meats, fruits, and olives. I also make it all pretty on the board.

3. Play a game

My husband and I love to play games. I still think we were the first to discover 5 second rule years ago. Then two years later it became this huge hit. Can it be hard finding games suitable for two? Yes. But we are both extremely competitive and get the best laughs from a game night. Our favorites are Scrabble, TV Show King on Playstation 2, and 5 second rule.

I got this lovely romper from H&M and it is definitely a number one stunna. I am wearing a size 8 for reference, but it was too big so I would recommend to size down. My normal size was too big at the top and was a loose fit. A size smaller would give me a more fitted look up top and not so loose in the bottom. It has a good stretch to it, so sizing down would not be a big deal. Plus, it has pockets! I love an outfit with pockets.

Two Piece Outfits with SHEIN

Two Piece Outfits with SHEIN

Y'all I am no supermodel by any means and definitely not striving to be. Putting myself out there for all the world to see is scary at times. I am very particular about the pieces in which I choose to showcase. I normally do not buy two piece outfits because usually with my luck is the top fits correctly, but the bottom does not. This was not the case for this outfit. I was able to get my normal size which is a size medium, and it ended up fitting just the way it needed...both pieces, in fact.

The top fits more fitted and it would be perfect paired with some white shorts especially these from Target. I love an outfit you can rock various ways and this one is perfect for that. Find this look linked here from SHEIN for $19. Hey, that rhymes, and I crack myself up.

I, of course, had to share other two piece outfits that I am totally digging this summer. If you want a complete bang for your buck then two pieces are the way to go. You can pair the two pieces together or wear them separately and create a whole new look.

Workwear Wednesday | Striped Button Down Midi Dress from Target

Workwear Wednesday | Striped Button Down Midi Dress from Target

I am not afraid to admit that when a dress is a complete button down there can be room for error. Maybe one button just will not button right and moving up and down sizes can make the outfit go wrong. That will not be the case with this outfit. It has just the right amount of stretch and va va voom.

My full time gig is an Assistant Principal at a High School. I like to be covered up at work so any piece I pick out for work needs to cover me up and be comfortable enough to face anything the day may bring. I love that this is a midi dress. It is the perfect length for me at work. I also like the placement of the slit keeps the dress tasteful and classy and again keeps me covered up. Buttons seem to be in right now and I think that this dress is perfect to stay in trend and still suitable for work.

LWD or Little White Dress for Summer

LWD or Little White Dress for Summer

Usually it is all about the LBD being the staple in your closet, but for the summer you need a LWD or little white dress. Just like the LBD it needs to be able to take you from day to night an be able to rock any occasion. What I love about this dress is that I can easily wear this to a summer wedding, or throw on a belt to cinch in the waist a little more and rock it at work, pair it with heels and go on a date, or even throw over a summer sweater so that it looks like a top and skirt. The sky is the limit with this one.

And sadly, it is sold out in most sizes, but if you are a small, XL, or XXL then pick this up at Target and use the code JULY4 for an extra 20% off. If you size is not in stock I did find other options for you to have a LWD or little white dress in your closet this summer.

Since Target is having a sale where you can get 20% off clothing, shoes, and swim using code JULY4 I wanted to also round up items I think you should pick up for the summer. I don't know if you noticed it but Target has been killing the fashion game this summer. Am I right?

Palm Print Stock Up with H&M

Palm Print Stock Up with H&M

I don't know about you, but I am digging the palm print. If you have been following me on Instagram you will know how much the palm print has hit my closet. There is just something about this print that screams summer and beach. I am originally from Corpus Christi, Texas and nothing makes me happier than the smell of saltwater. It brings back such memories from my hometown. Now that I live in Houston, Texas it is not a quick drive to the beach like it was back home and during the summer is when I hate that.

I think that H&M has really took the palm print and took it to the next level. It can be a hit or miss with such a bold print. I think the pieces they have with this print are ones that you will not feel like the print is so in your face. I am not one to wear a lot of prints because I need it to be toned down. I am a girl who likes to make a statement, but I definitely do not want the print to take over the look I am trying to achieve.

I have rounded up the best of the best palm prints from H&M. The one you should start with is definitely this wrap skirt. I am wearing a size 8 for reference and it fits perfectly. I paired it with a black one shoulder top that was only $5.99. It comes in various colors and fits like a glove and can be paired with so many things.

In total this outfit was under $32. Yep, you read that correctly. I am all about affordable fashion finds and these pieces definitely need to be in your closet.
