Fourth of July Attire with SHEIN

Fourth of July Attire with SHEIN

When I say that I stepped way outside my comfort zone for this look that would be an understatement.  I never thought in a million years I would ever wear anything like this especially since it shows my stomach. Even if it is a little peek it does not matter. This is my I am turning 31 and why not outfit. And you know what, I feel so good.

I have never been this confident in my life. I am proud of my body. Every last dimple, stretch mark, and roll. My body is not model perfect, but I am not trying to be perfect. I just want to be me. As honest and forthcoming as I am.

As women, we sometimes do not think that we can have it all. You know, the marriage, the family, the career, and your hobbies. Sometimes we feel this need to give up part of ourselves to fit in this box. I created this space because I want to empower you that you don't need to try to fit in the box. You can be free to be yourself, all of you, completely.

I never thought in a million years that I would come to the realization that having all that I want in life was a possibility. It took a lot of prayer and faith in God's plan for me to actually believe it.

So yes, here I am in this two piece showing my stomach and oh, so proud. I am married to be best man ever who loves every curve of my body. I have a wonderful son who can do no harm by me who has taught me so much about unconditional love and opened my heart in ways I never thought possible. I have a career that I am extremely passionate about. I go to work with a smile on my face because I absolutely love being an educator. Last, I love fashion and beauty and not ashamed of it. Yes, part of my paycheck goes to insane amounts of clothes and makeup, and I am proud of that. I find clothes that help me lift my head even higher than it already it is because I am proud of who I am. I love sharing beauty tips with others and as I age I need a little more help with helping me look my best self.

I found this outfit from SHEIN at an extremely affordable price. They have so many pieces under $25 that will rock your world. You can find the exact outfit linked here for $23. Yes, get your normal size. I am wearing a size medium for reference. It has a good amount of stretch to it to help it fit like a glove.

So rock what your momma gave you. Hold your head up high. Love yourself fully and completely.

To help you rock it this Fourth of July I picked out some great choices from Target. Due to the pick up, drive-up, and two-day shipping options you can be sure to have it in time to ring in the Fourth.

London is Calling

London is Calling

Y'all should know by now that for months I have been digging gingham print. This time I found the perfect dress that is super comfortable at a price point you will not believe. Right now this dress is $64.99 but if you use the code SUMMERSTYLE you will get 50% off your purchase.

Dress (Ann Taylor) | Shoes (Payless) | Pink Mirrored Sunglasses (Amazon)

This dress is perfect to fit any occasion whether you are going to work, a night out on the town, or even a summer outdoor wedding. I love a piece that takes you from day to night because then you really get your money's worth.

As far as sizing I am wearing a size 6 for reference, but wish I would have sized up for more room in my hips. I've got hips for days and they need room to move. I styled this look for a casual night out and yes, I know it screams tickled pink.

I do need your help. London is calling and we picked up the call. In a few months, my husband and I will be visiting London for one day. We originally were just going to go to Paris, but now we are adding in a stop in London so that we can watch an international soccer game. I am so excited! I love the energy of watching soccer and what better way to enjoy futbol then overseas. We will have time to check out London for about six hours before heading to the soccer game. I need any and all recommendations for places to go eat and visit in that short amount of time. So please send any and all recommendations my way.

Right now I am working on the last touches to our travel itinerary and I cannot wait to share all about how we budgeted for our trip, what went into planning our itinerary, and then the recap of our trip.

Workwear Wednesday | Tropical Print Flounce Dress from Ann Taylor

Workwear Wednesday | Tropical Print Flounce Dress from Ann Taylor

Let's talk about this dress. One, it is super comfortable. Two, the print screams it is summer, y'all. My recommendation is if you want a little extra room in the hips is to size up. I am wearing a size medium for reference.

I paired this dress with a tie up pink wedge from Payless along with some yellow raffa hoop earrings from Amazon. Speaking of Payless and Amazon, I just stocked up on a bunch of summer shoes from Payless. I ended up getting four pairs for less than $75. If you have not been to their site to shop there lately, or ever,  I would highly recommend. As far as Amazon, I get a lot of my jewelry from there. It is a great site to stock up on statement earrings for way less. Don't believe me just search statement earrings and you will find look a like to the pairs below.

Summer Shorts with Universal Thread from Target

Summer Shorts with Universal Thread from Target

It's wear all the shorts season, y'all. This is the one thing I love about the summer because here in Houston it is extra hot. However, for me finding the right shorts is not always easy. I have curves and cellulite that does not need to be showcased so although wearing shorts in the summer it is my favorite it also means that some of my flaws are showcased for the world to see. Also, there are a lot of shorts that are exactly that...short. I like a little length to my short because my assets are only for my husband's eyes.

Needless to say, I have found the perfect shorts and they are from Target and under $20. They have the right amount of stretch and the stretch does not get so stretchy that the shorts are super loose. Instead they stay fitted so get your normal size. I am a size 8 for reference. Could I have gotten the size 6 and been perfectly fine? Yes. But I like the fit of the 8 because if my weight fluctuates, as it always does, I know that these will fit.

I paired these white shorts from Target's Universal Thread line with this pink tiered top from Nordstrom Rack, silver wedge sandals from Payless, blue mirror sunglasses from Amazon, and my go to summer hat from H&M. The outfit to me screams summer and fun. By the way, my sunglasses are an awesome $5 find and they come in pink as well!

Since my top is sold out at Nordstrom Rack I wanted to make sure to have plenty of other options I found that are all affordable finds that scream summer. Happy shopping!

Rompers with Amazon Fashion

Rompers with Amazon Fashion

Summer to mean means give me all the rompers and jumpsuits. One, they are super comfortable. Two, you can dress them up and down. Want to look like you just might do something extra special? Throw on a romper. Need to throw on something while at the house, but then the doorbell rings and it's your crew. Girl, throw on a romper and some earrings and you are all set. I found this romper at Amazon for $12.99. Yep, I outdid myself with this one. I am wearing my normal size which is a medium and it fits perfectly. To say I felt like a rockstar in this would be an understatement. I linked my exact one if you click here

Flounce Skirt for Work

Flounce Skirt for Work

My momma would not approve this to be work appropriate, but my main reason for sharing is the point that it is a flounce skirt. Flounce skirts come in lengths longer than the one I have on. What I love about this particular flounce skirt is that it is a pull on. If you have been following along long enough you will know that I love for my clothes to allow for a little extra room. You know, for food? I like to eat, and I am not ashamed by that one bit. Plus as women our weight fluctuates and we get bloated at a moment's notice. Ladies, you know what I am talking about?

I picked out some amazing flounce skirt options that are perfect for work in case this one shows a wee bit too much leg you don't want to show off for work. However, if you are totes feeling the one I have on I linked it below. Under $30 but with Loft's extra 40% off sale right now it is $15.24.

Summer Wedding Dress Style with Nordstrom Rack

Summer Wedding Dress Style with Nordstrom Rack

Summer wedding season is upon us and if you are looking for a great option to wear that is super comfortable yet super stylish I have found the one. Rule of thumb is you never want to upstage the bride so the color is perfect for any summer wedding. However, I had a blogger fail and this particular dress sold out. But no worries because I got you covered. I found other options from the same retailer for all under $100.

All these pretty beauties can all be found at Nordstrom Rack. If you like shopping at places like Target and Loft then you will love Nordstrom Rack. Here is why all these retailers have amazing quality pieces at an exceptional price. If that describes you as a shopper then go check them out.

Maybelline Color Sensational Inti-Matte Nude Lipstick Swatch Review

Maybelline Color Sensational Inti-Matte Nude Lipstick Swatch Review

It's no secret that I love matte lipsticks when it comes to work. I love that a matte stays on, and I don't have to worry about constant reapplying because ain't nobody got time for that. I never know what a day will bring so the last thing I want to worry about is reapplying my lipstick. I decided to try a new line of matte shades and was intrigued by the Maybelline Color Sensational Inti-Matte Nude lipstick because one, it is a matte, duh and two, because they are nude shades. I love a good natural looking lipstick for work. I need a little pop but understated. If you agree then you will love these shades.

If y'all aren't following me on Instagram you really should. I tend to do an InstaStory on my initial reactions of beauty products I get before they hit the blog. Don't worry I have already added my initial reactions to my Makeup Highlights. It ended up being opposite day when it came to these lipsticks. What I thought I was going to love from just looking at it straight out of the tube I ended up hating.

The shades I reviewed are:

Honey Pink (550)

Raw Chocolate (560)

Almond Rose (565)

Toasted Truffle (570)

For a matte, they ended up being really moisturizing. The only one that did not feel moisturizing was the shade, Honey Pink which is also a shade that I did not really like. We shall see if it grows on me. All in all, if you are in my skin tone range I think these are nudes that you will love. My favorite shades are Raw Chocolate and Toasted Truffle. I felt Almond Rose was the perfect pink for my skin tone and the Honey Pink not so much. I don't know if it is the formula or what. I think once I pair it with something all black or all white I may feel differently, but for now that is definitely a shade you can skip.
